The CONTACT Project (2006-2009) is now completed and this webpage is no longer being updated.   Introduction to CONTACT Edinburgh: The Consciousness in Interaction (CONTACT) project is a collaborative research project with independent projects in Edinburgh, Bristol, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam and Mainz. The CONTACT project is one of the 5 projects in the EUROCORES programme “Consciousness in a Natural and Cultural Context” (CNCC). The programme is funded by the European Science Foundation (ESF) and the three national funding agencies: the CNR (Italy), the AHRC (United Kingdom), and the NWO (The Netherlands). CONTACT Edinburgh is Independent Project 03. Our focus is on active consciousness, embodiment, and the sense of self.
